MTN Mobile Money has come up with a service to facilitate MTN Mobile users to reset their PIN by providing an additional level of security. Customers will access the service on the MTN Mobile Money Shortcode *303#. For a customer to access the service they need to create a secret word.
The system will prompt the customer to create a secret word and then put a Hint in case they happen to forget their secret word. Once a customer enters their secret word and HINT, that’s it. In case a customer forgets their PIN, a secret word will be used to create a Self PIN Reset.

What is self PIN reset?

This is a service which will allow MTN Mobile Money Users via USSD menu (*303#) to register secret codes and hints which he/she will use to reset their Mobile Money PIN.

How to register a secret word

1. Dial *303#
2. Select “My Account”
3. Select “Manage Secret Word”
4. Select “Register Secret Word”
5. Enter your Mobile Money PIN
6.  Enter your preferred SECRET WORD (Alphanumeric, Minimum 3 Characters)
7.  Enter your preferred HINT i.e. Name of a favorite niece, motto, Mother’s birthday, Name of the first dog ever owned
